Don't think, I'll talk
Yeah I don't think I'll breathe And I don't think I'll think What you're thinking All that I know of us is what was there In the longest of stares we were sinking Ashes to beauty; rust in lust Passion attempts; misguided trust Smoking your bag of trickery Getting to love the little beast From my favourite Charlotte Martin song, Four Walls. Go listen! I'd offer a download, but my only copy came from iTunes and their evil, evil protected music files. Whores. I've been hiding downstairs all day, drawing at the kitchen table. I've realized that digital art is getting a little more tedious for me, so I decided to go back to my roots with. Y'know. Ink and watercolors. Dx Hope you guys don't mind..? I've been reading Dreams Underfoot by Charles de Lint, and he is now officially a literary god for me. Urban fantasy is the greatest (sub?)genre for me, because..I dunno. It's so much more immersive and real than damsels in distress and knights in shining armor. But I was thinking about the city of Newford (wouldlovetolivetherepls) and this guy was just. There. He never keeps one name and goes through a lot, all with a yellow-green feel to them. When he breathes (which isn't necessary for him so much as a beating heart), smoke leaves either his mouth or nose, depending on his mood. When he's relaxed, the smoke is in rainbows, when he's feeling melancholy, it's normally muted shades of blue. Anger comes up in gray or black smoke, and apathy is white. Red-black smoke, though, when he's beyond anger and straight into downright murderous. Which isn't an idle threat. He likes hanging out on roofs, usually above places like markets, where he can watch large amounts of people all at once. The adults never see him there, because as he says "once they get old, they never look up", but the children see him all the time. They call him the Chimney-Man, but none of the adults believe the children when they talk about him. |

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
